I am an avid sea kayaker and I once enjoyed drifting silently in my kayak past this large Grey Seal which was sound asleep. I was so close to it I could hear it softly snoring and saw a ribbon of sea weed fluttering over one of its nostrils with every breath. I was so quiet the seal was unaware of my presence and did not wake up. I paddled onwards, north up the Outer Hebridean islands. This was in 2015 when I kayaked solo, 2960km around Scotland and her Islands.
I created this lino cut from a photo I took on that day. I am new to to this process of printing and I really enjoy the whole process of drawing an image, carving it out and then carefully printing it.
The cards measure 10.5cm wide and 14.7cm high, is created with heavyweight paper, is blank inside and comes with an envelope.
Each card is an original lino print in dark green, signed by me.
